Don't overlook your chances
As 'long Life's way you go;
Don't let them drift as waters
Beneath the bridges flow.
Let not your opportunities
As sunbeams fade away,
Slow may they be returning
So grasp them while you may.
Waste not Life's days in dreaming,
For dreams may ne'er come true,
Dame Fortune shuns the laggard
But stands, awaiting you.
Today's a grim reality,
And yours to make or mar,
Tomorrow but a phantom thing
That lures you from afar.
So grasp the task before you,
You'll conquer it somehow;
You'll win, just keep a striving,
Life's golden hour is now.
So put your shoulder to the wheel,
What matters it the grade?
You'll find success a rich reward,
Well worth the fight you've made.
